State of Condition wants this site to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who browse with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, or rely on magnification or increased contrast.
WHAT WE HAVE DONE
These are measures taken during the build, described plainly rather than as claims of compliance:
- Pages are built from semantic HTML — real headings, lists, buttons and links — so assistive technology can describe the structure rather than guessing at it.
- Every page has one main heading, and section headings follow in order.
- Everything interactive can be reached and operated with a keyboard, and there is a visible focus indicator throughout. Panels and drawers close with the Escape key.
- Images carry alternative text, and form fields carry labels even where the design shows only a placeholder.
- Colour is drawn from a single fixed palette rather than chosen per page, so contrast behaves predictably.
- Layout is fluid between screen sizes, so the site can be zoomed or viewed on a small screen without content being cut off.
CONFORMANCE STATUS
[PLACEHOLDER — this section states what standard the site has been measured against and what the result was. It must not be written until an assessment has actually been carried out, and it should be reviewed by counsel before publication. An unverified conformance claim is a statement that can be tested and disproved in a single session with a screen reader.]
[PLACEHOLDER — the honest options are "not assessed" or "partially conformant", with a date and a commitment to remediate.]
KNOWN LIMITATIONS
We would rather name what we know than imply nothing is outstanding:
- The site has not undergone a formal accessibility audit or testing with assistive technology users.
- At least one interactive state — a hovered element that is already selected — has been measured below the contrast level we are working toward, and is on the list to fix.
- Some pages display content supplied by third parties, whose accessibility we do not control.
TELL US ABOUT A BARRIER
If something on this site stops you doing what you came to do, please tell us — it is the most useful thing you can do for us and for other visitors. Describe the page and what happened, and we will get back to you.

We aim to respond within [PLACEHOLDER — number] business days. Do not publish a response time the business cannot actually sustain; a missed commitment here is worse than none.
If you would prefer to reach us another way, [PLACEHOLDER — telephone or postal alternative. A telephone number given here should be able to accept calls placed through a relay service.]
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
This site relies on HTML, CSS, JavaScript and WAI-ARIA. It depends on those technologies being supported by your browser and any assistive technology you use.
COMPATIBILITY
[PLACEHOLDER — list the browser and assistive technology combinations the site has actually been tested with. Leave this unwritten rather than listing combinations nobody has tried.]
ASSESSMENT AND APPROVAL
[PLACEHOLDER — how the site was evaluated, by whom, and on what date. Also who approved this statement.]
